Cyndi Lauper is a Grammy-award winning artist known for her hit songs like ā€œGirls Just Wanna Have Fun,ā€ ā€œTime After Timeā€ and ā€œTrue Colors.ā€ She has sold over 50 million records worldwide and has recently finished her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour, which she called her farewell tour.

ā€œIt’s an arena tour, which I haven’t done in a long time,ā€ she told USA Today in 2024. ā€œI just want to thank everybody, say goodbye, celebrate with fans that have been so loyal and sweet and were there for every crazy-ass concert or thing that I did and I’m excited about doing it. I don’t think physically in another five years I will be as good, but now I can do it, you know?ā€

Although the farewell tour has ended, Lauper isn’t done performing yet. She has just launched her first Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, meant for fans who missed the tour.

Before the first concert on April 24, she posted a photograph to her social media that said, ā€œToday’s the day! My Las Vegas residency kicks off tonight and runs through May 2. I cannot wait to see you there!ā€

Unfortunately, the first night didn’t go perfectly. During the concert, Lauper had some strong words for one of the attendees. As reported by Us Weekly, someone in the crowd started shouting at her while she was up on stage. The music icon said, ā€œā€œI don’t know what the f*** he’s saying. Please remember where you are, OK?ā€

Lauper continued, ā€œIf you’re trying to shade me b*tch, I’m going to come for you. I’m from Brooklyn, and if I want to f**ing talk, I will do a tap dance if I f**ing want.ā€

The crowd applauded Lauper for her strong words and the opening night of the show continued on. And there's still more to come. Cyndi Lauper: Live In Las Vegas will continue running until May 2.

Earlier in the week, the singer posted a video to her Facebook, saying, ā€œHey, we’re in Vegas! I can’t believe it. [There] will be a couple of surprises in the show, but you have to come and see it. Not gonna tell you. I’m excited! Anyway, come on down [because] it’ll be a night of Cyn! I’ll see you at the show.ā€
