Coachella Music Festival 2026 was full of guest stars, collaborations, and surprise appearances. But one of the most unexpected of all cameos came from Katseye’s Manon Bannerman, who joined in on weekend’s festivities despite being on a “temporary hiatus” from the global girl group.

As expected, the star did not join the rest of Katseye—Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung—during their set on Friday night. However, the following day, she found herself on stage regardless, dancing alongside Chase Infiniti and Slayyyter during PinkPantheress’s set.

Speculation surrounding Bannerman’s return—or lack there of—to Katseye has escalated in the months since HYBE and Geffen announced she would be taking a “temporary hiatus” to focus on her health and wellbeing. Fans have noticed that the former member, who was scouted alongside the rest of the girls during the talent competition reality show Dream Academy, removed the name of the group from her Instagram bio.

In her own statement shared to Weverse, Bannerman thanked her fans for standing by her, writing, “Hi friends. I want you to hear this from me, I’m healthy, I’m okay, and I’m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture. Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.”

The rest of Katseye made their Coachella debut as a quintet during the 2026 festival, performing their hit songs “Gnarly,” “Gabriela,” “Touch,” and “Pinky Up.”
