In the latest episode of Marshals, two very unexpected characters shared a kiss.
The moment, shared by Belle (Arielle Kebbel) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) in the April 12 episode of the CBS series, came as a surprise while the two were having an emotional conversation about Belle's marriage woes. The teammates were quick to pull away from each other after the kiss, and Belle left quickly.
Marshall-Green, 49, says the kiss "felt earned" for his character and Kebbel's, who work on the same U.S. Marshals team, alongside Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes).
"I thought the scene played really well in the script," Marshall-Green tells PEOPLE at CBS Fest 2026 on April 15. "It felt earned in a way, and it's gonna continue to be something we earn throughout the season."
"I love working with Arielle," he continues of his costar, 41, as he says their characters, Belle and Cal, "become very intimate — but not just physically, in other ways too" this season.

The "stakes" are going to continue to rise as the first season of the Yellowstone spinoff series continues, Marshall-Green says. "We end this season on a cliffhanger," he reveals. "And I'm looking forward to picking up those stakes again very, very quickly, when we get back to shooting season 2 in just a few weeks."

The show was renewed for a second season just days after its premiere, which broke records as the most-streamed CBS episode on Paramount+ ever with over 20 million views.
For Kebbel, Marshals has been a life-changing experience. "The truth is, in my entire career, this is the first time that I'm experiencing this kind of response," she told PEOPLE of the show's success. "I think I'm digesting it in real time and it has yet to fully sink in."
"In most of my career, I'm used to working really hard and not really knowing what big success feels like," she said. "I'm used to working really hard and moving on to the next project and not really even thinking about what success looks or feels like. It's more just like, 'Okay, I worked really hard. I did that one. I had great experiences. Let me move on to the next.' Or, sometimes, not-great experiences. There's both."

The John Tucker Must Die star admitted that part of her feels "a little scared" about how well Marshals is doing. "I think, too, I am very grateful that the whirlwind around this show is happening now," she said.
"I started as a young little pup, and I'm not sure how I would've handled certain things back in the day. It's funny how the universe winks at you when you're ready."
